Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients for 6 servings

  • Maple Cinnamon Filling:
  • 12 Ounces Whipped Cream Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Maple Flavor
  • 2 to 3 Teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¾ Cup Powdered Sugar
  • Fruit Filling:
  • ½ Cup Ricotta Cheese
  • 1/3 Cup Mixed Berry Jam
  • French Toast Ingredients:
  • 1 Loaf Sara Lee® Artesano Bread
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Dash of Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • Powdered Sugar


Prepare your filling of choice in a medium bowl, adding all listed filling ingredients and mix to combine.
Spread 3 tablespoons of filling over two pieces of bread. Bring the pieces of bread together, creating a sandwich and press gently so they stay closed.
Turn your large skillet or griddle to medium heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
In a shallow bowl add the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt and whisk to combine; dip the sandwich into the egg mixture until both sides are well coated.
Add the sandwiches to the preheated skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides. Repeat with additional sandwiches, adding additional butter to the pan if desired. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve with a dusting of powdered sugar.
