Cheese Straws

Ingredients for 4 servings

  • 1 1⁄2 Cups Gruyere, Asiago or Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 3⁄4 Stick Unsalted Butter
  • 1⁄2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1⁄8 Teaspoon Cayenne
  • 1 1⁄2 Tablespoons Milk
  • For Extra Spice, Add 1⁄4 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flake

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Pulse cheese, flour, butter, salt and cayenne pepper in a food processor until well combined. Add milk and pulse until dough forms balls.

Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface using a floured rolling pin. Roll to about a 10-inch square. Cut dough into strips about 1⁄3-inch wide. Carefully separate the strips and transfer to a baking sheet.

Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from heat and cool on a rack.
