Salted Caramel Bars

Ingredients for 9 servings

  • 1 Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1/3 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Jar Mrs. Richardson’s® Caramel
  • Coarse Sea Salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare an 8x8 baking pan with non stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix, softened butter and egg until crumbly. Remove 1/3 of the cake mixture, reserve, and press the remainder into the pan. Bake for 13 minutes or until starting to brown, then remove from oven and allow to cool.
Pour 2/3 cup of caramel over the prepared base and spread evenly. Sprinkle coarse sea salt over the caramel layer. Disperse the reserved cake mixture in crumbles evenly over the caramel and bake an additional 15 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
