A simple staple combines a savory sauce with ground meat, veggies and rice for a filling dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb super lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cups soy sauce or tamari
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 bunch green onions, diced
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • Cucumbers and carrots for garnish

Process

  1. In a medium skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. 

  2. Add the ground beef and minced garlic and brown until meat is cooked through. Drain any remaining oil.

  3. In a small bowl add soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and the red pepper flakes. Pour sauce into skillet with the beef and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and reduces.

  4. Serve over rice with cucumbers and carrots and top with green onions.
