Copper River Salmon
The name alone is enough to start palates watering. These naturally spawning salmon are only caught near the mouth of Alaska’s Copper River watershed. It’s a rare spot on earth where glacial mountain water mixes with Pacific currents. It’s so special, in fact, that it’s carefully managed for the long-term health of the fish. Limited numbers of King, Sockeye and Coho are caught for just a few weeks—when the run is finished, all we can do is wait for next year. But wow, what a prize if you're lucky enough to have one on your plate.
More reasons they're such a catch:
- Highest omega-3 levels of ALL wild salmon.
- Spawning hundreds of miles makes fish larger and healthier.
- Prized for their high oil content, firm texture and succulent flavor.
